Grateful

Tonight I am feeling grateful.

Our leaky windows were replaced today and they look beautiful! The best part is that our huge picture window in our kitchen is now a double-hung window. I adore being able to open it! And God gave us a BEAUTIFUL night to open it and let the breeze fill our home.

I worked some in the garden. Pulled a squash and some dead leaves. I love smelling fresh veggies and growing my own food.

We ran some errands. Went to Kohl's and Michael's. I got nothing for myself! Unless you count the paper I bought at Michael's for my newest crafty project.

I made dinner. Sloppy Joe's. One of my most favorite of my grandma's recipes and the best summer dinner. We chose to eat inside and watch some of the Yankees game.

Then we went on a walk. I love it when my husband groans about going on a walk, but then chooses the long way around the neighborhood. And we held hands for the entire walk.

I cuddled with my puppy who is pushing 4 which makes her not a puppy anymore. She brings me such peace.

It has been a busy week at work and I am grateful to have a night full of simple pleasures and an early bedtime. I am soaking up each peaceful night because I pray one day soon, I will be looking back on these nights saying "Hey...do you remember what it was like BEFORE children?"
